Old bicycles
The demand for bike s have increased and how. The old bikes are no exception and prices rise up to ridicule. What's worse is that often the bikes end up being sold for this ridiculous price the seller either by greed or by ignorance of the buyer.
I'm not sure that should this demand. I think to myself about possible reasons. First the fashion of mountain biking . Yes, today is a fashion, everyone wants to do to show BTT athlete, healthy and such. Even just a stroll on the beach and take the car with the bike there. But this trend can not have direct influence on old bicycles. Anyway many bike shops, or rather mountain bike shops take advantage of the wave and put in their windows touring bikes, children bikes, replicas of confectioners, in short, a mess that no one understands. It takes care of this practice. Stores that want to cover a large market share tend to fail. The future lies in specialization. Ahead, what matters here are the replicas of these bikes confectioners . Usually filled with material of inferior quality are asked price of around € 300. They are bikes with components from the Asian market or production careless. To give an example when you press the brake levers one of these bikes in the case of brake lever, most of the strength is lost in parts arriving at the pad and not enough to immobilize the bike. That is as if to say everything and do not fold lock anything. For much less money you can get an old bike used but much better quality. For example, even a little before this fever of old bicycles gave € 50 for a bike pastry 1982 in very good condition, moreover, is to walk as bought. You can not say it's a bike worthy of being in a collection but meets the objective: it is robust, walks and is not expensive.
Regarding the old bikes, there are a few different types and so aficionados of one, some or all types of bicycles.
- Bike Pasteleira: perhaps many people question themselves about what is a bicycle pastry. I thought it would be common knowledge but it seems that this is not and some people think we're talking about a woman who makes the cakes! The Bike Pasteleira have its name from the phrase "walk the pastel" ie walking slowly, walking time to do. Bikes are heavy, sturdy, comfortable that typically use a three-speed transmission. Used in countless professions mark an era.

- And Muscle Bike Chopper Bike: we have to distinguish two things. The bicycle chopper bike chopper classic and modern. Both have their origin in the motorcycle while modern but resembles a bike without a motor or the other for it. The Raleigh even fabricated a model called Chopper, one of his greatest hits. As for the Muscle Bike have their origins in the United States more focused bridging the world of the typical American Muscle cars to the imagination of children in the form of bicycle. Most of them are bicycle wheel 20. Comfort is not the biggest asset of this type of antique bicycle. This blog is already one of my shows three bikes of this type: a Esmaltina Fury pedal that often a Ross Apollo Racer and a Stelber StratoStreak 3 .

- Folding bicycle wheel 20: This is another kind of utilitarian cycling. Portugal has produced plenty of models of these bikes before that industry to decline (where not yet out). Lightweight, easy to store and sometimes also with three speeds are the delight not only children but also and especially ladies who prefer a bike lower. I have three of these bikes: a Portuguese Vilar Deluxe Bicycle , a bike Triumph Twenty English (not foldable) and an Italian bike Ariela .
- Bike Racing: This is a world about which I know little. The world of fine wheel has its collectors engaged in achieving all the original features of a bicycle. These are bikes that require well-stuffed wallets and a very special taste for road biking.
Of course, the categories of old bicycles are not limited to these. Between one and there are other variations, models, fashions. And each country is marked by a style. An old German bike is very different from an old Italian bike.
After all, if we are not collectors, does not matter much. Since it is cheap, is in good condition and the ride is what it takes to save an antique bicycle. Frankly it is preferable to use the old bike on a daily basis than restoring just to be on display, unless they are already museum pieces like this bike Peugout, 1908 .

Just do a short presentation, participate a little and then have access to the classified area.

Does pastry is even "pastry"? I get this 'website' driven by curiosity about the origin of the word. Pastry is a name I came from a kid and now I saw a reference to some bikes 'Pashley' British. The proximity of the sound of Pashley and pastry makes me wonder if this is not the origin of the word! Greetings!

Well, actually it does have a point on the similarity of words. Still more believe in the version of pastries. We will be always in doubt!
